Trac Review
by Amy
Hi, We are using Trac on top of Subversion for our Development Team. The Trac claim is this: "Trac is a minimalistic approach to web-based management of software projects. Its goal is to simplify effective tracking and handling of software issues, enhancements and overall progress." We have found this to be true. Our team consists of about 20 developers, 3 Project Managers, 2 Business Analysts and 20 testers, if you include our business users. We were previously using a home grown system, called Bugger...and it was in more ways than one. 1. It was slow and buggy. 2. We used to have to track our bugs in spreadsheets because of data lose. 3. It had one report to use Trac has been a joy to use. It is easy to learn. It is web-based. It's reporting capabilities are fantastic compared to what we were using before. It was easy to mold to our software development process. I would highly recommend Trac to anyone looking for a software tracking tool.
