  • Provide a central source of infrastructure data, as well as the processes and procedures necessary to ensure its continued accuracy


Simplify, Streamline and Standardize our Environment

  • Strive to drive costs of our operations by investigating simpler processes and procedures that can accomplish the same level of control
  • Remove all duplication of tools, and choose those that meet business requirements at the lowest possible cost
  • End 2008 with a completely unified Service Management organization and offering


Be Agile & Flexible

  • Anticipate changing business needs and respond by building the necessary flexibility into processes and procedures while maintaining the appropriate levels of control
  • Provide tool sets to the enterprise that are able to adapt to changing business direction and market conditions


Innovate in Order to Continuously Improve Services

  • Show willingness to try new processes and procedures in order to improve our operational control and business agility
  • Pinpoint operational and communication gaps and identify potential solutions
  • Take risks - without risk there can be no innovation just make sure the risk is manageable

SCM Job Duties

SCM Goals: To provide the following SCM services

1. Software Builds

2. Install Packaging

3. Source Code Administration

Objective: The purpose of this objective is the measure associates against the capabilities outlined in their job family description. The manager will set expectations as to what measurements demonstrate these capabilities.

Software Builds: Providing repeatable and reproducible software builds to ensure the rapid development of our software releases - 25%

Install Packaging: Creating robust and reproducible software packaging to ensure proper environment and server configuration of our software application during deployments – 25%

Environment Configurations Management: Ensuring the proper configuration of server settings, 3rd party software and networking settings of the development and test environments and supporting the Integration and Production environments - 25%

Documentation: Creating and updating the installation and configuration specifications documents - 15%

Source Code Administration: Maintaining and administering the source code


SCM Job Duties

Plan Measurement: Receive Plan level feedback from customers, peers and manager for the projects supported.

Target Measurement: Receive Target level feedback from customers, peers and manager for the projects supported.

In addition to source code control, these tools now encapsulate change control, software builds, project management, item/defect tracking, and fully automated testing capabilities.
